This page explains how GetKG Tech chooses, writes, checks and corrects its news and articles. It applies to everything published on this site.
What we publish
Short, dated news reports and longer explainers about artificial intelligence, phones and gadgets, computers and chips, space, quantum and science, and energy. News stories describe what happened, who said it and when — based on official statements, filings and reputable publications.
- Technology, not politics. We report official decisions that affect technology, but not partisan politics, war or crime.
- Gaming stories are limited to the biggest hardware and industry news.
- The Internet Guide section is a hand-picked directory of useful websites; it is not sponsored.
How a story is made
- Sources first. Every news story is based on at least one primary or reputable source, and the sources are listed at the end of the story.
- AI-assisted, human-reviewed. Drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools from the listed sources. An editor reads, edits and approves every story before it is published. Nothing is published automatically without that review.
- Original writing. We summarise and explain in our own words. We do not copy other publications, and short quotes are always attributed.
- Dates and times. Each story shows when it was published and when it was last updated (Irish time).
- Images. Photos come from free stock libraries with their licence, or are illustrations made for the story. They are not photos of the actual event unless the caption says so.
What we do not publish
- Rumours, gossip or claims we cannot attribute to a source
- Partisan political commentary, war reporting or crime stories
- Paid stories, sponsored «news» or hidden advertising
- Content that breaks Irish or EU law
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Factual errors are corrected as soon as we confirm them, the «Updated» date on the story changes, and significant corrections get a short note at the end of the story explaining what changed.
